Shaun Hernandez, Program Director for Strategic Initiatives at the University of Wisconsin Department of Surgery, has been an active AASA member since 2012. Prior to his election as Secretary, Shaun served for three terms (2013-2014, 2014-2015, 2015-2016) as Midwest Regional Representative.

Shaun has worked at UW Health, the academic health system of the University of Wisconsin, since 2009, and in the Department of Surgery since 2012. He holds a master's degree in public/non-profit management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he also completed his undergraduate education.
