

Adrienne Mitchell is the Director of Human Resources and Academic Affairs for the Department of Surgery at the University of Chicago. As the senior HR and Academic Affairs leader for the department, she is responsible for establishing and implementing the human resource strategy, as well as the execution of academic affairs processes for the department. To accomplish this, Adrienne works with leaders within the University, Medical Center, Division and Department to achieve the department’s strategic initiatives and goals.
Prior to joining the Department of Surgery, Adrienne held other leadership roles in operational excellence/lean transformation, human resources, and information systems. Adrienne received her BS in Information Systems from Eastern Michigan University and her MBA from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University. She also is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), and Project Management Professional (PMP). She has been a member of AASA since 2013. Since joining, she has attended three regional conferences, three annual conferences, and several webinars.
